The signature tastes of Bangalow must be, without a doubt, macadamia nuts & oil and local coffee. The green hills around Bangalow provide a rich vista of macadamia and coffee farms with their flourishing rows of trees and bushes flowing  in undulating rows into the surrounding hinterland.

The macadamia is a native rainforest tree. Its home is the rich volcanic soils of northern New South Wales and south east Queensland., where it thrives in the warm sub-tropical climate The macadamia , considered to be the world’s finest nut, is the only Australian plant to become an international food.

Macadamia oil is a ‘good oil’ , being largely monounsaturated. Macadamias contain a higher percentage of monounsaturated oils than any other natural product. Macadamia oil is similar to olive oil in its composition and use. It is available as natural oil or infused with herbs and essences.

Locally grown coffee is the third of the signature flavours of Bangalow.  Local coffee producers consistently win medals and awards for their fabulous coffee and coffee products.
